The women behind the thin towels...
Mary – the most enthusiastic Cuddlefish Co. member, she dreams of linen closets made spacious with neat stacks of microfiber towels.
Caroline – the Italian connection, introducer of the microfiber beach towel to the mamme americane.
Roberta – expert business lady, she never says no to a challenge.
Georgia – artist, designer and strong believer in the loop for hanging up towels.
So why would anyone want a really thin towel?”
We do! We are four moms who want really thin, lightweight towels to carry around for our broods. And the teenagers in our broods want a packable towel to carry around in their drawstring backpacks.
They work just like regular terry cloth towels. They get you dry…they’re just really thin!
from Napoli to Cumberland
Caroline lives in Naples, Italy, with her three young girls where microfiber towels are all the rage. Everyone has them and uses them for the pool, beach, and gym. Microfiber towels are light and absorbent and easy to pack. Living in the city means walking and taking a funicular to the port to take a ferry over to the Amalfi coast or Capri. You really want the lightest bag possible.
Every summer Caroline visits her sisters, Roberta and Georgia, in Cumberland, RI, and she always tries to bring things that you can’t find in the USA. So two summers ago she came with a bunch of microfiber towels for the cousins. The boys were confused at first…were these things blankets or towels? But they were so light they insisted on carrying their own towels to the beach…and back. Georgia’s next-door neighbor, Mary, mother of four, witnessed the towels in action one weekend on Cape Cod. “I love these thin towels!” she said. “Imagine your linen closet with these big towels folded up so small and stacked neatly inside!” Mary was very enthusiastic about the thin towels. So after much brainstorming and designing…The Cuddlefish Towel Company was born!
